Farewell to the home country
Farewell to your home country is about more than the day the plane departs. A song can pause at the language, people and everyday familiarity you take along in your head, without making the departure only sad.
One more round past trusted places
Maybe there is a last dinner, a walk through the old neighbourhood or a bag of food for on the way. Gestures like these can say what is hard to speak during the farewell. Let the view stay with what is left behind: the destination doesn't have to draw all attention to itself right away.
Which home country are you leaving behind, and what does that departure mean? Name people, places, smells or expressions you want to take along; should the song mainly say farewell, thank or word a lasting bond?
