Farewell to an athlete
The shoes may be hung up, but not everything stops at the last match. A farewell song for an athlete looks at character, habits and the traces someone leaves, within and outside the lines.
Packing the bag one more time
The fixed jersey number, stretching next to the dugout or the silence before a start can make the departure tangible. Next to big achievements, also place something small: advice to a newcomer, those eternal spare laces, talking it over after a loss. That way farewell isn't only about an honours list.
From which sport does this person say farewell, and why now? Which achievement, habit and bond with others typifies the athlete; should the ending mainly move, thank or look ahead?
